Log splitter This project was a lot of fun. We went and look at a bunch of new splitters at the dealers. Then went to the locale  rental  places to see how they held up. This is the main carriage. We added stiffener plates in the wide flange at the cylinder mounts and  ram slider travel area. At the slider area we added  UHMW strips where it rides on the flange. This allows it to glide better with less play. Also reducing galling and bending of the flange. At the rear section we boxed in an area for a future cylinder to raise and lower the star wedge. There is also a removable grate we fabricated to assist when re-spitting. 52 Chev truck bed
